One of the earliest concepts taught to a Mormon child is that of “choosing the right.” A slogan similar to “What would Jesus do?”, “Choose the Right” is meant to remind believers to act according to church doctrine.

There is always considered to be a right and wrong to every question. Mormon children wear CTR rings and all members sing songs about the oft-repeated phrase. But sinister side effects arise as an emphasis on black and white perfectionism leads to a judgmental and self-loathing culture.
